Why convert TIFF to JPEG?
Scanners and professional software produce TIFF files that browsers cannot display and that are often very large. JPEG solves both problems at once.
Only the first page of a multi-page TIFF is converted, and some unusual TIFF variants cannot be read at all. The tool says so rather than producing a broken image.
JPEG also brings its own advantage here: photographs compress dramatically, often to a tenth of a lossless file.

Are my TIFF files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your files are read from your device and never sent to a server, because this site has no server that receives them.
What happens to transparency when converting TIFF to JPEG?
JPEG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a background colour. You choose the colour, and the preview shows exactly how the result will look before you download it.
Does converting to JPEG lose quality?
Yes. JPEG is a lossy format, so some detail is discarded permanently. The quality setting controls how much: at 80 or above the difference is rarely visible, and lower values trade visible detail for a smaller file.
Can I convert several TIFF files at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together, and download the results individually or as a single ZIP. Progress is shown per file and overall.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no commercial limit and no account. There are technical limits, because a browser has finite memory: very large images are flagged before conversion, and the tool says plainly when a device may struggle rather than freezing.
